modern treatment for disordered eating

healing your relationship with food, one cookie at a time

What’s your self talk like when you eat a cookie? Do you think that cookies are bad for you? Do you worry that if you eat one, you won’t be able to stop? Or that you’ll gain weight? Perhaps you feel morally wrong for indulging in a cookie, leading you to believe you need to compensate by “being good” the next day or burning extra calories at the gym.

These thoughts can be overwhelming and often stem from a disordered relationship with food. It’s time to challenge these beliefs.

I want to help you return to a more intuitive relationship with eating. We can work together to break down the barriers of guilt and restriction, allowing you to trust your body again and enjoy the eating experience.

Individual Therapy

  • I support clients in healing their relationship with food and body. Whether you're struggling with restriction, bingeing, compulsive exercise, or body image distress, I’ll meet you exactly where you are—no shame, no judgment. Together, we’ll explore the function of disordered behaviors, build skills for nourishment and self-care, and reconnect you with trust in your body and yourself.

  • When you're living with depression, even the smallest tasks can feel overwhelming. In our work together, we’ll start gently—with a focus on small, meaningful actions that can help you reconnect with the world around you. Using behavioral activation, we’ll identify ways to build momentum and rediscover what brings you joy or purpose. At the same time, we’ll work on shifting harsh self-talk and learning to treat yourself with the kindness you truly deserve.

  • Anxiety can feel all-consuming, but it doesn’t have to control your life. I work with clients to gently unpack the underlying fears and thought patterns fueling their anxiety, using approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and compassion. Together, we’ll build coping strategies that are both grounding and empowering—so you can face uncertainty with more ease.

  • OCD is loud, persistent, and convincing—but it doesn't have to run your life. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, to help you gradually face your fears without giving in to compulsions. You might not feel ready—and that’s okay. I’ll be with you every step of the way, offering encouragement as you build trust in yourself and learn that anxiety doesn’t have the final word.

Morgan Ransom, LMHC

I’m Morgan and I’m so glad you’re here. I feel like one of the lucky ones in that I love what I do. There’s nothing I enjoy more than helping my clients feel comfortable in their bodies and free around food. In my daily life as a friend, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Intuitive Eating Specialist, and in recovery from dieting and disordered eating, I found myself having so many conversations with friends and colleagues that challenged the way we think about our bodies, food, and living. I would love to have those conversations with you, too!
