“But I can’t just eat cake and ice cream all day!”
I bet you're like a kid in a candy store. You've probably been deprived for so long that the thought of approach food that was once deemed forbidden is overwhelming. You're worried you'll binge and gain even more weight. Truthfully, I don't know what's going to happen. You might gain weight, you might lose weight. What I do know is that the body is so incredibly smart and when we try to outsmart it, we get really out of sync with our cues. Some days we'll crave chocolate cake. Other days it will be a crisp caesar salad. Let your body tell you, rather than the other way around.
Experience the joy of eating
When did eating stop being a pleasurable experience for you? It's hard to enjoy food when you're consumed with thoughts, fear of weight gain, and guilt. Eating is allowed to be a fun and satisfying. When you truly give yourself unconditional permission to have the foods you love, they begin to lose their hold over you, allowing you to experience greater freedom and joy in your daily life. Embracing this mindset can transform your relationship with food.
