Cope with your emotions
All of us have used food for emotional reasons. I’m not just talking about the stereotypical picture of the girl eating ice cream after a break up. I’m talking about eating because we’re bored, stressed, or even happy. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself, am i emotionally hungry, physically hungry, or both? If you are emotionally hungry, try to figure out what you’re seeking in the food. Is it providing comfort? Relief? Distraction? Dig deep into your feelings and discover what you need. Consider if there are other ways to fill that emotional need, like cuddling up with you puppy, making a warm cup of tea, or asking someone for a hug.
