Gentle Nutrition
While we want to be fueling our bodies adequately, there is a reason that this is the last principle of intuitive eating. Our bodies are naturally really good at telling us what we need and eating nutritious foods is also a part of the intuitive eating experience. If you truly don’t have a preference in what you’re eating, this may be a time to consider gentle nutrition and what foods will best fuel your body. I don’t want you to get caught up in diet culture messages of deeming food “healthy” or “unhealthy” because this is not what intuitive eating stands for. If you are considering nutrition in your journey with intuitive eating, consider meeting with a nutritionist who is certified in intuitive eating. There’s a ton of misinformation out there, so I want you to see someone you can trust to support you in improving your relationship with food.
